Fish LSC Charters is located on the Canadian side of Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River. These waters offer a wide variety of fishing opportunities for every type of angler. From monster muskie to massive walleye and everything in between.

About Captain Ian Jones

My name is Ian Jones and I am a fully licensed Captain with Transport Canada. I have my SVOP Certificate, MED A3 Certificate, VHF Certificate DSC endorsed and I am also commercially insured.

My focus is on providing you with the best possible chance at catching fish and teaching you about the lake and various techniques that I’ve learned over the years fishing on Lake St. Clair. It is a fishery like no other and a destination every angler should experience.

The Boat

The Alumacraft Competitor sport is the ultimate fishing boat and comes fully loaded with all the options necessary to have an awesome day on the water. A big front casting deck provides the best possible platform to fish from. The full windshield and overall design of the Alumacraft Competitor Sport makes cruising to any spot on the lake a smooth and enjoyable ride.

Motors

Fuel efficient and one of the quietest motors on the market, the Yamaha 115HP 4-stroke is my outboard motor of choice. It allows us to troll for muskie at slow speeds with basically no noise but gets to new fishing spots quickly.

The Minn Kota PD Auto Pilot zooms us along weed lines and drops while casting for muskie and bass.

Electronics

My fish finder of choice is the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. With two units on board; one mounted at the front deck where you will be fishing and the other conveniently located at the console. The Hybrid Dual Imaging provides an awesome view of what is going on under the surface, allowing us to effortlessly find schools of bait fish and specific underwater structure.

The Gear

You are welcome to bring your own gear, but all fishing gear will be provided including rod, reel, bait and tackle.

Rods

I have used many rods and have come to the conclusion having a quality rod matters. I will be running St. Croix Rods and have full set ups at your disposal.

Reels

We will be using St Croix Avid 300 series reels which provide lots of cranking power and amazing drag for fighting big fish.

Cameras

It is recommended that you bring your own camera but I too bring my Nikon D3200 DSLR and AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm lens that shoots 24.2MP stills. This camera is hooked up to an external Rode microphone to capture awesome 1080p video.

Filming fishing for the last 5 years i have learned that nothing can beat a GoPro camera. I am running a GoPro HD Hero 4 that shoots 1080P video. Having 4 extra batteries and a 64GB memory card lets me film a full 8HR + day of fishing.
